Grade 8 Agenda:
Finish Charges and Fields data collection as needed.
Open the simulation. Prepare your notebook to record observations and collect data.
Turn on the "Grid" by clicking the box located next to it.
Place a positive charge at the intersection of two grid lines - roughly in the center of the screen.
Make a "T" chart in your notebook to collect data. Label the left side "Distance (cm)" and the right side "Electric Potential (volts).
Use the voltmeter to measure the strength of the electric field (electric potential) in volts at various locations.
Use the tape measure to measure the distance between the charge and the voltmeter at these locations.
Record the data in your notebook.
Measure and record data for at least 10 different locations.
Remove the positive charge and replace it with a negative charge.
Repeat steps 4 through 9 using the negative charge.
Pass back magnetism experiment grades.
Pass back and Review Forces Quiz 2, Magnetism
Everyday Mysteries: What is Static Electricity?
Growth Mindset - activity
