Week of November 12 Objectives

Grade 7 Objectives:

This week, we will continue our study of the structure of matter. We will begin by reinforcing the concept that all matter is made of particles that may be classified into two broad categories: atoms and molecules. Atoms are the smallest units of elements while molecules are the smallest units of compounds. With this in hand, we will examine the arrangement of particles in solids liquids and gases utilizing an online tool. From this we will develop definitions of solids liquids and gases that tie the macroscopic properties of the states of matter to their microscopic structure. We will close the week ready to investigate energy and how energy interacts with matter.
