Finding volume through displacement.

When an object is submerged, it displaces an amount of water equal to its volume.

Water level in a container rises exactly as much as the volume of the object.

The volume of the object is the difference between the starting volume and the ending volume.

  • Vo - volume of object

  • Vi - initial volume

  • Vf - final volume

  • Vo = Vf - Vi
