Line Dance: ACTIVITY NORMS

GETTING READY

  1. Get the materials your instructor says you need

    • papers

    • pencil

  2. obtain a clip board on your way out of the room.

  3. Transition to the hallway quietly when asked to do so.

  4. Stand opposite another student in two PARALLEL lines

  5. Space yourselves five feet apart from the student next to you in line

    • (finger tip to finger tip with arms stretched out)

  6. LISTEN CAREFULLY TO INSTRUCTIONS

DURING THE ACTIVITY

  1. BEGIN DISCUSSIONS WHEN ASKED TO DO SO

    • BE POLITE

    • LISTEN AND SHOW INTEREST IN THE IDEAS OF OTHERS

    • STAY ON TASK

    • EXPLORE EACH TOPIC - GET AS MUCH OUT OF IT WITH YOUR PARTNER AS POSSIBLE

  2. LISTEN FOR THE ACTIVITY COMMANDS

    • "EYES UP" MEANS TO STOP DISCUSSION AND turn your FACE YOUR TEACHER

    • "Step forward" MEANS TO step into the middle of the hallway and begint he assigned discussion

    • "Step back" MEANS TO Step back into the two parallel lines and go silent.

    • “Dance” means to do a funky silent shuffle one position to the right

    • The person on the end of the line who has no partner must shuffle between the lines al the way to the opposite end where they re-join their line.
